About

Historic China Camp buTTsmack — a 14 mile monthly time trial event starting at 6pm on South San Pedro Road.

Here are the exciting details:

  • This is a low key, non-sanctioned, self-timed event. No doping controls, and cheating is allowed. You can eat whatever kind of meat you want prior-to, during, or after the event. I don’t care.
  • There will be a Merckx division for those of you too poor or cheap to buy a TT bike, or for those of you who are too chicken to buy one.
  • There will be a Cancellara division for those of us who are the proud and manly owners of TT bikes.
  • There will be a Kirstin Armstrong division for the womenfolk who are also proud and manly.
  • If you want to do a 2-person TT or a 4-person TT, that’s fine. I don’t care what you do.
  • If you want to be a dweeb and use aero wheels and helmets and all that, feel free. I could care less about what you do.
  • There will be a special “Andy Schleck shiTTyness Award” given away for the person who embarrasses himself the most in the event. This I care about.

Meeting Locations and Time:

5pm — For those of us riding up from SF, we will meet at the South-East parking lot of the GGB and ride up as a group. I will provide a secure spot for you to drop any crap that you have to haul up in a backpack.

6pm — We will meet at the start/finish line, which is at the red light beside the parking lot for the boat launch / harbor — at the corner of S. San Pedro and Loch Lomond Drive. From there it is an out-and-back course. We will ride north around China Camp to the first and only stop sign on the course (just past Joe’s house and adjacent to the 7-Eleven store), where we will turn around and TT our way back to the start/finish. The course is so simple that even a raging idiot like me can not miss the turnaround.
